The Stamford pet of the week is Barley, a German shepherd and Rhodesian Ridgeback mix available for adoption at Stamford Animal Care & Control Shelter. Barley is a friendly companion with an easygoing personality. Barley loves nothing more than exploring the outdoors. If you want a companion to take hiking, he’s your boy.

Wrap Up the Season at Saks

Believe it or not, the season’s final shopping weekend before Christmas is upon us. As you scamper to get organized, Saks Fifth Avenue of Greenwich hosts another fundraiser that will make your holiday preparations a little bit easier.

Saturday, Dec. 18, Outreach to Pets in Need, a Stamford animal shelter and advocacy group, will offer complimentary gift wrap on all your Saks purchases from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Donations will benefit OPIN and the homeless animals they work to save.

While you’re shopping or waiting for your gifts to be wrapped, sample some goodies
