It’s been a busy year for Jennifer Covello. Her company Frittabello LLC, which focuses on new and expectant mothers, has won several awards, including a bronze medal from Jenkins Publishing for her self-published baby journal, “My Life…A Chronicle of the Journey.”
“The products are selling themselves,” says Covello, a Norwalk mother of two. “They’re being sold in more retail outlets, so business is growing.” That trend will continue with an expansion into services geared toward time-stressed, sleep-deprived new moms.
Covello fits this growing business around her own duties as a mother of two, an “almost 10-year-old” daughter and 13-year-old son, whose ADHD prompted her to enter Main Street Connect’s Close to My Heart contest in her effort to support the Connecticut Association for Children & Adults with Learning Disabilities. As one of the runner-up winners, she’ll share $500 with the group, which she calls “a jewel we have here in Norwalk – more people need to know about it.” Covello has benefited from the association through its workshops and seminars, and she donates a portion of her company’s sales to the organization each year. Thanks to Close to My Heart, she’ll be able to add a little more.
Next up for this busy mom? Organizing the second “Bumps, Babies and Beyond” expo at the Italian Center in Stamford on March 27. “It was a hit last year," she says, "and should be even bigger and better this time."
Are you a new mom? Where do you turn for help?
Expecting mothers should have someone to turn to for help, and that is someone who is a mother also. They need someone whom they can turn to for help, advices such as for their kids' safety tips or for good parenting advices and to ask from for baby tools and kits. Well, good luck to your business venture and hope it may expand more.
