Edwin Herrera sets up the outdoor patio at Tiernan’s Bar and Restaurant every day once warm weather arrives and business swells, especially during the Alive @ Five concert series. Tiernan's owner Colette Deacy expects this year to be no different.
“We’re at a prime location for Alive @ Five, and we’ve been doing this for eight years now,” said Deacy. “There’s always something new. We’ll see how the first few weeks run.”
Third Eye Blind will kick off the Alive @ Five, a concert series hosted by the Stamford Downtown Special Services District and the city of Stamford in Columbus Park. Twenty musicians will perform every Thursday at 5 p.m. from June 23 to Aug. 4.
Deacy said she doesn’t know whether she’ll make it to any shows this summer because she has two young children. Still, the B-52s concert piqued her interest.
“I came down last year for the Beach Boys,” said Deacy. “This year, we’ll have to see about a babysitter.” Regardless of her attendance, she expects a crowd.
“We get a good buzz,” said Deacy. “We always pray for good weather.”
Other Alive @ Five acts include MC Hammer, Five for Fighting, Lee DeWyze and Dennis DeYoung: The Music of Styx.
