A new therapeutic group for women who are survivors of rape and/or incest is forming under the auspices of Stamford’s Center for Sexual Assault Crisis Counseling and Education. The purpose is to emphasize empowerment and recognition of social boundaries and to teach self-soothing techniques. Women will be able to express their feelings and make connections with others who have gone through similar experiences, in a trusted and private environment.
In addition to Stamford, the center provides counseling services to lower Fairfield County residents in Darien, Greenwich, New Canaan, Norwalk, Stamford, Weston, Westport and Wilton.
The group will meet for 10 sessions. Anyone interested in participating should call the center by March 30 at . For more information, visit the center’s website.
