After a rough winter, you and your family are probably looking forward to a nice spring or summer getaway. How does a vacation at an oceanfront New England resort sound? You can literally make a bid for it. Two nights at the Chatham Bars Inn on Cape Cod (pictured here) are among the auction items that’ll be up for grabs during the Direction to Success Dinner-Dance-Auction taking place at the Italian Center, 1620 Newfield Ave., Stamford, on April 1. The event benefits supplemental projects and programs sponsored by the PTO at Northeast Elementary School in Stamford. Tickets are $65. Contact event Co-Chair  to reserve yours.

Other auction items include tickets for “Glee,” Katy Perry and the Westport Playhouse; a Long Ridge Summer Camp session and camp gear; a trip on the Schooner SoundWaters; becoming a sportscaster or weather person for a day on News12CT; a private performance by jazz crooner Richard “Cookie” Thomas, winner of the Toyota of Stamford singing contest; and more vacation stays, at locations that include a four-bedroom house on Martha’s Vineyard, Mohegan Sun, Ski-in Ski-Out on Stratton Mountain and Swan & Dolphin Resort at Walt Disney World.
