What’s hot, delicious and romantic all over? It’s Chef Jean-Louis Gerin’s special Valentine’s Day cooking class for ladies only. Thursday, Feb. 10 at the Clarke Culinary Center in Norwalk, he’ll share some of his most succulent secrets to help you cook up something special for your sweetie. And, you can tempt your own taste buds while you’re there with a champagne tasting as you learn the practiced tricks of Chef Jean-Louis’s trade.

A Greenwich restaurateur since the mid-80s, Chef Jean-Louis earned the title of Best Chef in the Northeast, an accolade he received from the James Beard Foundation in 2006. In 2009, he received the Toque d'Argent, the highest distinction from the Master Chefs of France for his lifetime achievement.

But it’s not only his culinary prowess that makes him the perfect choice to teach a Valentine’s Day cooking class. He’s also a romantic at heart. He runs his eponymous restaurant with his wife, Linda. "Linda and I love being with people who love food and wine," says Chef Jean-Louis. "At our restaurant, we are constantly playing with ingredients and techniques, and that's what makes life really fun. We didn't even notice when 20 years went by!"
