If your sweetheart loves chocolate, don't settle for any old kind this Valentine's Day. Instead, head over to Cocoa Michelle in Westport, where owner/chocolatier Michelle Weber is serving up a variety of decoratively handmade chocolates and truffles.

In keeping with tradition, she has boxed assortments of six, 16 and 32 pieces with both chocolates and truffles. And because it's Valentine's season, you'll find heart-shaped chocolates, in seven different flavors.

"We have blood orange caramel, cherry, mint chocolate, raspberry cream, strawberry, caramel and chai latte," said the Westport resident.

As for truffles, some of the flavors are champagne, hazelnut, ginger, dark ganache and sea salt, and cinnamon nutmeg.

While assortments are great, let's say your sweetie doesn't like caramel but loves raspberry cream. What do you do? Put together your own box of chocolates, of course.

At Cocoa Michelle, the chocolates are displayed in glass cases, like jewelry. So if you want to put together a box of three raspberry creams, two mint chocolates and one hazelnut truffle, you can. Likewise, if you want only two or three truffles or pieces of chocolate, you can do that, too.

"You don't have to get a box," said Michelle. "We're here to cater -- and people really like that."

Expecting a rush of last-minute shoppers, Michelle is holding special store hours Sunday and Monday. On Sunday, the shop will be open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and on Monday until 7 p.m. -- so long as she doesn't sell out of chocolates.

"It's been busy the past few days, and Monday will be crazy," she said. "If people want chocolates, they should get here early."
