John P. McFadden died in his Stamford home of more than 50 years on Sunday March 27. He was 85.

He was born in Scotland to Michael and Anne McFadden. After graduating from Greenwich High School, he received his electrical engineering license from Connecticut. He started his own electrical contracting business, which he ran for more than 50 years.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Barbara McFadden; his daughters, Heather Scofield, Heidi Deluca and Perin McFadden; his son, John Scott McFadden; and seven grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Michael McFadden, Bernard McFadden, Frank McFadden; and a nephew.

Calling hours will be held at Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home 2900 Summer St., Stamford, on Tuesday, March 29, from 5 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 30, at St. Leo Parish, 24 Roxbury Road, Stamford. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery in Greenwich.
