Several of America’s wealthiest residents live in Greenwich, the town farthest south in Fairfield County, according to the latest Forbes Magazine list of the world’s richest people.
Steve Cohen, a hedge fund manager worth approximately $8 billion, resides in Greenwich. He is tied for 114th on the latest Forbes list. The list does not end there. Greenwich resident Ray Dalio, who also works with hedge funds, is worth an estimated $6 billion. Investor Edward Lampert, worth $3.6 billion, also calls Greenwich home. So do Paul Tudor Jones, currently worth $3.3 billion, hedge fund manager Stephen Mandel, worth $1.7 billion, Thomas Peterffy of Interactive Brokers Group, worth more than $1.4 billion, and investor C. Dean Metropoulos, worth $1.2 billion.
Richard Chilton Jr., who works with hedge funds and is worth $1.7 billion, lives in Darien.
Two other Connecticut residents made the billionaires’ list. Subway restaurants founder Peter Buck, worth $1.8 billion, lives in Danbury. Karen Pritzker, whose family started the Hyatt Hotels chain, is worth $1.7 billion. She resides in Branford.
