Jeanne Dora Robustelli, a former nurse at Greenwich Hospital, died Friday at Stamford Hospital. She was 84 years old. She was the wife of Giants legend Andy Robustelli, a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
She was born in Stamford and graduated from Stamford High School as well as Greenwich School of Nursing. Robustelli practiced nursing at Greenwich Hospital until 1947, when she married Andy, her high school sweetheart, after the war was over. With Jeanne by his side, Andy went on to achieve success in the NFL and in business with a thriving Stamford-based travel agency. Jeanne Robustelli focused on her family and never missed a sporting event, from NFL Championship games to youth hockey games.
She is survived by her husband, nine children and their spouses as well as 29 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A mass was celebrated Monday morning at St. Cecilia’s Church in Stamford and burial was in St. John’s Cemetery in Darien.
