Brendan George and the rest of Stamford High School’s Strawberry Hill Players donned leather jackets, slicked back their hair and made their way down to the Avon Theater for a "Grease" sing-along on Wednesday night.
The cast, dressed in 1950s style, was joined by members of the public for a special screening of the 1978 hit movie musical. The lyrics to the songs were displayed on the bottom of the screen so everyone was able to do their best Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta impersonations. The cast added to the fun by providing commentary throughout the movie and holding meet-and-greet sessions before and after the movie.
The sing-along was a fundraiser for the Strawberry Hill Players spring production of “Grease.” The musical will hit the stage May 6, 7, 13, and 14 with all show times at 8 p.m. and an additional matinee performance at 2 p.m. May 14. Tickets can be bought online or by calling the box office at 6.
