Three times won't be the charm for the UConn women's basketball team. The two-time defending national champions were upset Sunday night by Notre Dame, 72-63, in a semifinal game played in Indianapolis.
Notre Dame will now have the home-court advantage as it plays for the title against Texas A&M, which beat Stanford, 63-62, in the other semifinal game.
Connecticut and Stanford had been to the Final Four the last four seasons and were favored to meet for the title Tuesday night in a rematch of last year's title game.
It was the final college game for superstar Maya Moore, who lost only four games in 154 at UConn.
The loss ended the season for the UConn women, but the men's team will play Butler for the men's championship Monday night in Houston.
